Good game. Campaign is short but pretty fun. Loses a start for lack of local servers and the price. I don't really care about multiplayer. I think buying a game solely for multiplayer is ridiculous, knowing full well that it will be obsolete in a year or 2.

It seems that we will never get any private servers Battlefield 1 like we did with Battlefield 4, there is also no official South African Battlefield 1 servers, meaning that if you want to play this online you will always be stuck with a minimum ping of 200. It really is a great game, but not worth buying till EA and Dice cave and give us an official server or allow a third party to host a private server.

Exorbitant price and no local SA servers
Janet, South Africa. 16 October 2016
There will be no OFFICIAL local servers for the Africa continent, but there will be a rent a server from ea , just like battlefield 4 for you to play locally

Campaign is a huge step up from Battlefield 4, only complaint is that it's too short and I hope they add more war stories with the dlc.
Multiplayer is fun and maps are beautiful, but there are no local servers. EA has decided to not offer servers to third party companies like they did with previous BF games. They believe this would give all players a unified experience, however I find this stupid. A player with a 50 and a player 160 (lowest ping I've seen) are not having the same experience.
They're offering rent-a-server but you would still only be renting a server in EU.
For the massive price tag and no local servers I would recommend you wait it out. I've requested a refund until they open up the game to more people.
If you have a console maybe consider buying it on there.

Best Game ever!

Bf1 is the best battlefield I've played so far. I've played bad company 1,2,bf3 and bf4 but in bf1 I feel like I'm really in a war. The ping isn't as bad as everyone says it is. I have a 2mb line with Telkom and the lowest ping I can get is 195 on European servers. That gives me 3 bars out of 4 and it's very playable and smooth. My PC rig is an i3 6100, 8 gigs ram and a GTX 950 extreme edition. Runs the game smoothly on medium settings. My one friend has a 10mb line and his ping is even better. I know everyone is angry because of no local servers but trust me the ping is good. I'll try post some gameplay on my YouTube channel soon so you guys can see how good it is. Peace!

What a mission to start playing this game. I got mine thanks to Takealot on release date. But only stared playing on the 30th. EA tried to help me with some issue's. In the end I had to download a new Service Pack for Win.7

Yes, there aren't local servers as of yet. There's also a DirectX problem that's been causing game crashes from time to time as well. But once both of these things are fixed I'm certain that this will go down as one of the best fps games of all time.

Ping in the 50s - not bad. Awesome game.

Most amazing game i only play the campaign but the idea of playing different people in the war and the game play was out of this world if i have any thing to moan about is the it could have been longer. I am not an online player or expansions to the flying warfare otherwise you will not be disappointed. And yes always had an issue installing EA games no reading info from the DVD disks and downloading 40gig of data.

Dont buy it no local servers
Ethan, South Africa. 9 December 2016
Some reviewers complaining about no local servers. Local servers have been confirmed for early 2017. I've been playing since release with no real issues on international servers anyway.
Stefan, South Africa. 24 October 2016
No local servers but still an amazing game. 100% playable and extremely fun.

Absorbing game, brilliant game play, great story line and amazing graphics... Runs just fine on an Intel Skylake i5 6400 and Nvidia GTX 970 with 16 Gig RAM...

Game is really good. Usual bugs that needs fixing, still waiting on SA servers but it wi come. Recommend to buy from takealot. Cheaper and so much easier.
