Child of Eden on PlayStation 3 takes place in a mysterious world called Eden, a futuristic version of the Internet that is so advanced scientists are attempting to create artificial life within it. In order to create this new being, the scientists have used the preserved body and memories of a woman known as Lumi, the first human to be born in the far reaches of outer space.
Unfortunately for the scientists, things do not go to plan and Lumi comes under attack from a deadly virus, tearing through the world of Eden and causing havoc with their plans to recreate human intelligence.
The virus is so powerful it threatens to destroy Lumi's memories, dreams and vast knowledge of planet Earth, so that means it is up to you to grab your wireless controller or PlayStation Move motion controller and defeat it in this eye-popping adventure.
You can use either your wireless controller or PlayStation Move motion controller in Child of Eden on PlayStation 3 to blast your way through the game's five fast and furious missions. Throughout each one you have two weapons to hand at all times, the rapid-fire Tracer Cannon or the Lock-on Laser.
While the rapid-fire cannon must be used to destroy certain types of enemies or incoming projectile attacks, it is the weaker of the two weapons in your arsenal. Using the Lock-on Laser, you can target and blast up to eight enemies all at once. The more hits you chain together, the more points you receive and unlock bonuses such as Euphoria Bombs, which can be used to obliterate everything on-screen at once.
What is really interesting about Child of Eden's gameplay is that you're tasked with destroying targets in time with the beat of the soundtrack. The more successful you are at this, the higher your score at the end of the mission, which means there are lots of reasons to replay the game and try to better your result.
However, the further you progress into the campaign the tougher the challenge, so marrying your moves with the wireless controller or PlayStation Move motion controller becomes harder. If you're going to make it to the top, you'll need a fast trigger finger and an ear for the beat.
