Of course you want to know — When do I get it?
We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).
If we say Pre-order it means that your item will be dispatched to you on the day it's released.
We always try our very best to get it to you as soon as possible but cannot guarantee same day delivery.
And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.

I got a kindle as I got it overseas and it cost 200 dollars, not 2599 rand so for me I feel I am getting what I paid for.
Apart from Amazon prime, which does not work outside the USA, with a valid credit card (Amex, Mastercard etc) you'll be able to make purchases to your kindle from the Amazon store.
While the Kindle Fire runs Android, it's a 'forked version' of it, with the Android Market being replaced by the Amazon app store. Also to download even free apps you'll need to a register a credit card with your amazon account. While one can sideload apps to the Kindle Fire, not all Android apps have been tested or known to function on the Fire. I only recommend this to those who are willing to circumvent some of the limitations on this device.

This is value for money. I just got this from this store. Within 5 minutes I had access to the massive world of android apps outside of the Amazon marketplace. Installing them is a breeze so there is a ton of functionality in this device for anyone in SA.i also have an iPad so can compare... Based on value : functionality I would say the Fire beats the iPad.

The Kindle Fire WILL NOT WORK in SA yet!
You need a US address to get one AND to use one.
Just be patient, it will be released globally when it can be used globally.

Great device, however you will not be able to use most of the functions outside of the US. Functions like purchasing apps and streaming videos are only available in the US, you will still be able to buy books and maybe music, but that's about it. You will only be able to side load videos via USB. Also the Kindle has 1 year warranty.Amazon will not ship a replacement to you because its outside of the US, So this device is pointless to own in S.A

Very happy. The power lead is a bit short and the power unit has flat pins, and requires a special adapter that is not normally in SA homes.
