Of course you want to know — When do I get it?
We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).
If we say Pre-order it means that your item will be dispatched to you on the day it's released.
We always try our very best to get it to you as soon as possible but cannot guarantee same day delivery.
And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.
If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.

Word on the street is that cash is king!
Because we love giving you the most awesome online experience ... we now offer a COD (cash on delivery) payment option on certain orders.
That's right people, we're giving you even more choice than ever before! (as if that's even possible).
We think you'll be just as chuffed as we are about it.
So how exactly does COD (cash on delivery) work?
Simple really ... when placing your order(s) online, simply select COD as your preferred payment method and only pay for your goods when you receive them. Please have your cash ready when they get to your door!
If COD is not applicable to a particular product, we'll make it very clear on the product page.
At this point, COD is available for orders delivered within certain geographical areas and on select products based on value, if you don't see it as an option, then our nifty system has excluded you based on where you stay. If you aren't sure about where you fit in, just give us a shout and we'll help out - 0861 222 989 or info@takealot.com

this is really all you need if you're a windows home user. just make sure your pc has more than 1gig ram. while there is a profession edition for windows 7, this edition is like the equivalent of the windows xp profession edition.
this retail version contains both 32bit and 64bit dvd's. it can also be installed on any number of computers - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.
most notable improvements from previous windows versions:
the new graphical & user interface for the taskbar on the bottom is a massive help to people who tend to have many screens open at once.
the startup speed is waaaaay faster.

New version of Windows.
Pros:
Definitely allows full H.264 AVC acceleration on Intel GMA500 chipset netbooks and ultraportables.
Quicker shutdown than Windows XP.
Faster than Vista.
Ability to run Basic Theme with old school taskbar.
Cons:
Takes longer than Windows XP Pro to start up on good SSDs such as the ones from Toshiba.
Slower than Windows XP on lower end hardware.
Expensive -No Upgrade version in SA. In the past MS allowed cheaper Upgrade versions but not anymore.
No MS online store and ability to purchase keys over the internet as in the US.
No Discounted Family Upgrade Pack in SA.
Does not recognise all SSDs as SSDs even from premium manufacturers.
Chris, ERASMUSKLOOF. 21 June 2011
Best OS since XP. Unfortunately VPC2007 doesn't work as well as it should. Start up, shut down, sleep functions are all waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay quicker than Vista. Everything works as it should. Much more simplified than XP. Search-box in the Start-menu is awesome!
If you are still on XP, shame on you!
