Supplier out of stock

Of course you want to know — When do I get it?

We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:

If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).

If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.

If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).

If we say Pre-order it means that your item will be dispatched to you on the day it's released.

We always try our very best to get it to you as soon as possible but cannot guarantee same day delivery.

Imports are a best effort service, we strive to get it to you as soon as possible within the guidelines above but it's not always within our complete control so if something goes wrong we will let you know.

And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.

If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.

When do I get it?

WOW - Not for the weak minded and faint hearted

After 15 years of gaming, WoW is in it's own category in my book. It's one of those games that won't die and has no need for sequals. The game is like DotA/original warcraft, facebook and every excellent game every made were thrown in a pot together, mixed together and out came wow.

But it's addictive. If you are not careful, WoW will devour you and slowly destroy you. This has made WoW both loved and hated at the same time.

Another big pain about WoW is patches and internet connection. WoW doesn't use much MB while you're playing, but as you progress in the game, the MB usage will increase as you begin to play in more and more interesting and complex dungeons and battlegrounds. Patches however; can destroy most internet bundles; I played WoW for 11 months now and I have seen patches from 5 mb to 800 mb and since the third expansion Cataclysm is a month away; they have released the "expansion prep" patch which was 5 Gb with a follow up patch that was 1.3 Gb; and patches aren't optional, there mandatory. (Players have quit because they couldn't get the patch, and no patch, no play). For anyone who uses Vodacom or MTN internet; don't try to play this game on EDGE, I mean it, it will just ruin your gaming experience.

Only offensive, rude and obscene things come from other players. You are playing with millions of other people from all over the world and off course, you will get people who will swear at you because you asked a simple question.

As for subsription, you can pay for 1 month, 3 months or 6 months on site, but since the servers are in europe, you're fee will be based on the current conversion rate between the rand and the euro. With the six month subscription, you can expect to pay from R600 to R700.

For those who want to know about gameplay. With original WoW (or Vanilla as it's known by player) you get to choose to create a character in one of two factions, the Horde and the Alliance. Each faction has four races with their own unique abilities. After that, you choose one of ten classes but each race is limited in which classes they can be. After that, you give your character a name and then you enter the world.

For a quick description of gameplay, it's like a RTS game and GTA rolled in together. Like GTA, you run around in a huge world, acquiring quests/missions along the way. To engage in combat, you just right click on your target and then use your chosen classes abilities to take them down as fast as you can.

This is the best game ever!

First off, I've played World of Warcraft solidly for a year, and then again on and off for another year. I managed to reach the level cap with my main character, so I have a pretty good understanding of the game, it's contents and storyline.

With that being said, onto my mini-review:

Without a doubt, the game's strongest point is it's addictiveness. So much so that even the casual gamer will find themselves making less time for school/work and more time for WoW, even up to the point of neglecting real life commitments. While the amount of time you spend on a game is entirely determined by each player, the game is structured in such a way that everything seems to take a little longer than the amount of time you actually have.

The graphics and sound are very good, although I have seen and heard better in other games. The playability is very good, and the learning curve relatively low, so anyone can play reasonable well within a few hours.

One of the biggest problems with the game is it's cost. I hear dozens of people saying that WoW has a level of support unmatched in any other game, and that all games would be better if the had the Blizzard support team. But think about it realistically: wouldn't you be a able to afford an excellent team if you were earing £8,000,000 per month? Because that's the amount of money that Blizzard makes, excluding the +/- £10 per game that each player initially spent.

For the average European citizen the monthly cost is fixed at £9.99, but for us South Africans with a fluctuating exchange rate, a game that started off at R100 per month will be costing nearly R200 in a very short time. Worth it for people who have the money, but for most that struggle to keep their heads above water, it's simply un-affordable. And let's not forget the bandwidth usage as well.

Overall I think it's a very good game, but I find that after a year or so it begins to lose it's appeal. Why? While it might get more challenging going from solo to group to 5-man raids to 40-man raids, I find that it really is just basically more of the same. The only difference is that the player and enemies are more powerful. Also, once you hit the level cap, there is limited potential for a casual solo gamer, as most quest after that point are high-end raids.

Bottom line: a very good game that is worth it, if you have the time and money. If not, you'd be better off looking elsewhere.

I've played just about every RPG ever made - and WoW is by a long way the most addictive. The game is brilliantly balanced, with an intricate story line, great quests and a world filled with lots to do.

To think that this is an exercise in levelling is to miss the point of the game. There's enough in it for every type of gamer. If you want the hardcore Player vs Player action, there's excellent battleground options that are challenging, fun-filled adrenalin rushes. You can enjoy these at any level.

For the quester and puzzle solver, there's an array of excellent, well thought out and rewarding quests that guide you through the game.

For the equipment junkie, there's a plethora of outrageous equipment waiting to be discovered, set items, unique items, and much, much more.

For the economist in you, the game's fully developed world economy with professions can provide hours / days of fun buying, finding, making and selling items. For the homely types, you can even cook your own food (that can give you incredible bonuses). After a tough day's raiding and adventuring, you can also go have a good fishing experience.

Combat is fabulous, especially when you work in a group. The excitement and enjoyment from assaulting an orc stronghold with a party of 5 intrepid adventurers who compliment each other's skills is unparalelled.

Don't worry that the game ends when you reach level 60 - the game only begins there. Magnificent 40-man raids become the order of the day, fighting in wild and exotic locations against some of the most fearsome enemies is the order of the day - and then the pursuit of the best equipment in the game really begins.

With the expansion due early next year, there is even more to look forward too...

so whether you're the hack and slash warrior, the combat mage, the sneaky rogue, or the righteous healer, this is the game for you.

Enjoy it!

I havent bought it but it sounds good.
I need a few questions answered first.
1:whats the cheapest way to renew an account?
2:Do you start with a free 1 month trial?
3:Can you renew it with a starter pack?

Please answer

This is by far the best MMORPG available. I have never played a game like WoW before, I have played quite a bit of it a lvl 44 character out of lvl 60. And so far I have NEVER had one bug or thing I didn't like about it.

The interface, like all Blizzard games, is superior in every way and is fully customizable by Mods such as Titan.

I recommend this to people willing to pay the R100 per month fee, trust me it's worth it. The content compared to Guild Wars is about four times as much, the world itself is massive. Visit www.wow-europe.com for the community web site.

BUY it now! You won't be disappointed!

GOD I HATE THIS GAME, I played it for a while and this is what i found the plot of this @$@$#@$ stupid game is to get to level 60 and then when that is done you GUESS WHAT START AGAIN!!!!! there is absolutly no action and exp to gaming, it may be fun in the biginning but you will come to see the absolute monstrosity of WARCRAFT. Warcraft 3 was awsome I still play it today but this is just embarrising. They could of just made a new strategy RPG like Oblivian ELDER scrolls or Dark Messiah but they $#@#$%# it up again. If u love wasting time on chatting to people on the net this is the game for you if your a real GM GET BATTLEFIELD 2142 for PITTYS SAKE!!!!!!!

Hi guys

I want to buy the game but i want to know if it will be possible to play it with a vodacom external usb modem. I dont want to buy this if the latency is going to make me want to break things

Christo, Elsburg. 24 April 2009

Been playing the game for about 2 years now - still not tired or bored of it. There is so much variety that it is impossible to get bored.

I've played my share of games over the years - Everquest, Spacequest etc.

I currently play Day of Defeat, Counter Strike, Sin Episodes, Half Life2 - all online.

All the Need for Speeds, Brother's in Arms, Call of duty etc.

I must say, all these games I've paid for now sit on my desk - collecting dust - because once I finish a game it is pointless playing it again - which is totally different with WOW.
(I have never been able to play a game for more than 2 months without getting bored....)

The only drawback to Wow is the cost - but then for my entertainment it is a small price to pay per month.

Definately look at the expansions - Burning Cruisade and Wrath of the Lich King - which takes the level cap to 80 and opens up a whole new continent to explore - and of course the DEATH KNIGHT class!

All in all I do not think there is anything that comes close to it for my personal satisfaction in PC gaming ....

Deidre, Ballito. 2 August 2010

Do you need to buy a 60 day prepaid card if you already have the full game

Mike, Sandton. 7 August 2010

Been playing now for 5 years. World of warcraft is still by far one of the best games i have ever played in my life. If you are going to buy it and play on a fake server then dont even bother getting it. But if you gonna play on a real server and pay blizz the monthly fee then get it and be drawn into a world of fantasy, might and magic. The game is beautiful in every single way.
GET IT!!!!!!!!!

Kelvin, . 23 March 2010

Ok first of all @ Mark Z:
1.You cant renew your account...if you experience problems then contact a GameMaster in game or contact an admin (on world of warcrafts european site)
2.Yes, when you buy a copy you get your first month for free
3.You cannot renew an account(quoting from answer 1)
If you want to, you can play it for free on a private server. There is thousands out there.

This game is addictive, but in a good way...
You play in a massive world, and there is a variety of characters you can choose from.
The only thing that i dislike of this game is that so now and then you experience bugs...(problems that occurs on the server)for example lagg and other stuff.
But if you are looking for a RPG that you wont get tired of soon, get World of Warcraft.

BTW, does anyone know of a website where you can download the patches THAT IS HOSTED IN SOUTH AFRICA???
thnx
World Of Warcraft FTW!!!
