Supplier out of stock
We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).
Imports are a best effort service, we strive to get it to you as soon as possible within the guidelines above but it's not always within our complete control so if something goes wrong we will let you know.
And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.
If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.
The award-winning Battlefield franchise invades the high tech
frontlines of modern warfare in the new sequel, Battlefield 2â„¢. The game brings
the intensity and excitement of Battlefield 1942â„¢ into the modern era with
enhanced team play and the latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and
weapons systems available to man.
In Battlefield 2, players will choose
to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese,
or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern
weaponry, players can take control of any of the game's 30+ vehicles to engage
in major conflicts with over 100 players in some of the largest online battles
on the PC. Additionally, persistent character growth allows players to rise
through the ranks and attain the ultimate rank of General.
An all-new
game engine and physics system brings the modern battlefield to life like never
before. The new material penetration feature measures weapons' ability to fire
through barriers based on their composition and players will need to know the
difference between concealment and cover in order to survive.
Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible
environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious
hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to
support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-
to-player ratio and an optimized gameplay experience.
Enhanced team play
features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a
formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the
strategic assaults of their teammates.
Soldier kits now affect vehicles
that players utilize on the battlefield. For instance, the medic kit can
transform a vehicle into a mobile aid station and the special ops kit can render
aircraft undetectable to enemy radar.
Features:
Online multiplayer action with 100+ players on the PC
All-new gameplay engine brings the immense locations to life complete with realistic physics and dynamic lighting
Maps scale to the number of players engaging in battle for a unique and intense experience every time
Take control of over 30 land, sea, and air vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, hovercraft, fast attack vehicles, and fighter jets
Character Persistence and Growth. With in-game success, players increase their rank from recruit all the way to General and unlock awards, including new weapons, vehicle decals, medals, and more

Up and Coming new stunner
This is one of those games that everyone that played or is still playing the original is dying to get…
There are some really awesome new built in features…and the environment is immersive and comes across as real eye candy. No idea as to the new physics engine, but based on 1942 and DC it’s going to rock.
Some issues have arisen as to the behavior of the aircrafts, the helicopters in particular. The controls was (in the original DC) to accurate (close to the real thing) that they made it a bit easier to fly in the later versions, which is still nice, but the younger brother, Battlefield: Vietnam (also built on a new engine), dumbes down the controls so heavily, so that no one that could fly the original crafts, can fly anymore… Its behavior stands in contrast with basic laws of physics, but hopefully it’s sorted in BF2…
The only real problem is of course, the long wait… And a long wait it’s going to be, since it will be arriving in SA only on 26th June 2005 in SA (we get it 28th) if we are lucky…
The suckey thing being that the Americans get it on the 14th June 2005, and if they pre-order, they get some really nice Logitech Extreme Gaming Headsets as a free extra to go with the game’s built in voice over IP feature… It's so unfair…
