Of course you want to know — When do I get it?
We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). Description
The call of duty needs answering once again, as the blockbusting first person shooter series returns to the modern day. A direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare you now play new character Sgt Gary "Roach" Sanderson. Your commander is "Soap" from the first game as you join a multinational anti-terrorist squad out to stop Russian ultra nationalists.
Watch your squad grow from inexperienced rookies to veteran warriors A snowmobile race is just one of the new vehicle sections. Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4. You'll journey all around the world in the fight against terrorism
Many of the details on the game are still sketchy but it promises to feature an even more varied series of locales than the ever before, including a snowbound enemy camp that starts with a daredevil mountain climb across the ice before a stealthy infiltration goes awry and you have to run for your life by commandeering a snowmobile.
But that's just the single player mode - the multiplayer is expected to be even more ground-breaking than before, with new co-op options and even more rewards and perks for competitive play.
Features:
- Call of Warfare: Stunning cinematic action, including new underwater missions, new gadgets such as the motion detector and new vehicles including snowmobiles and more.
- Rough guide: Massive globe-spanning adventure sees you travelling to the deserts of Afghanistan, the slums of Rio de Janerio and the wilderness of Russia.
- Bigger world: New larger levels allow you to tackle missions however you want: will you try a frontal assault or a more stealthy approach from another angle?
- Special co-op: New Special Forces mode will introduce two player co-operative play for the first time, in a series of non-story missions.
- Be the best: Competitive multiplayer is even bigger and better than before, with all-new rewards for everyone from raw recruits to the most experienced players.

Great game for single player only. Installs via Steam which could take a while depending on the speed of your internet connection. Graphics are great, but multiplayer is quite limited in comparison to Modern Warfare 1 on PC. I recommend you give the PC version a skip and rather rent it on PS3 or 360.
Also: My review is based on buying it at the pre-order price. I'm not sure I could justify paying full price for this game.
Edit: Subtracting one because it's been 5 hours now and I still haven't managed to get it installed ... gotta love release day issues.

Great game, although scenes is in part stolen from COD1/2/4 with updated graphics and weapons but still very enjoyable. Graphics and sound good but not breath taking. Single player game is over too quick but it has been well thought out and has a good storyline. Spec ops extras will add another hour or so of game play but gets boring quickly. For the price, I don't think its value for money.

Excellent game, no problems with Steam as I have been running Steam since 2004. Multiplayer, no problems, only noobs on the servers that ruin it.

This game if judged purely on graphics and enjoyability gets a ten.
Single player campaign gets a 5 because it is EXTREMELY short. I finished it in one day of solid playing on the hard mode. I thought hard would make it last longer but it didn't.
But the whole point that 99% of the people might have bought this game is for the multiplayer and thats where it fails on an epic scale.
The lack of dedicated servers has rubbed everyone the wrong way, IWNET sucks on a scale that is unbelievable. Even (IMHO) if a lot of SA players get this game that will only improve the game a little.
IWNET suffers from bad pings. The game drops you mid game (and thereby you lose any XP you gained in that game) if it attempts a host migration and fails, which happens a lot and sometimes you can sit 5 minutes waiting for IWNET to place you in a suitable game.
Cheating is NOT non-existant (Which is part of the reason IW made IWNET) as I have seen speed hacks several times on servers.
Various reviews have slammed IW for thier change of policy and dumping the PC gamer in favour of consoles and people are now touting Bad Company 2 as the next game to make it big as the developers and publishers of Bad Company have promised dedicated servers and many other things to make BOTH camps (PC and Console players) happy.

Now u are proberly wondedering if I filled in everything @10 why only a game rating of 9.It is simple It has 3 Problems Steam and iwnet and HACKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!.The game is fantastic to play, multiplayer is Pure legand,so many aswome combos and titels and emblems. But then u get Hackers which just ruin your game and get nukes, 2min into the game.and then the hacker is the host. But despite this buy it and never buy another fps for the rest of the year.Donno what people are moaning about with install times.myne installed under 20min and a extra 5min for the steam things and i have a 384K line lyke alot of people so wtf .awell enjoy the legand game.
Quintus, Ifafi. 8 December 2009
If you can get past the activations etc. etc., you are in for the best singleplayer campaign to ever hit a game. It may be a bit on the short side and at times confusing, the attention to detail and the immense amount of action featured in the game is near godlike. If you have a wealthy internet cap and bandwidth, you really can't go wrong here.

Guys this game isnt as bad as people make it out to be. Been playing the whole of last night. Game is a lot better than the first MW. Biggest issue bugging people is the Dedicated Servers.
I tried multiplayer last night out of 10 games, about 3 i had a perfect ping, cause the game matched me up with other people close to my area or in Africa. the more South Africans buy this the better the MP will become. Even though with a high ping you still get to shoot the other bastards easily.
We are however going to try and improve the MP experience for people in SA and we are going to do this by inviting SA players to private games via this Steam Community
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MW2ZA?
Really, try it, definitely better than the first and even with some lag, i still enjoyed it, hardly noticed it. As for the install took me about 30 minutes max.
the more people we get to join this community the better our online experience will be.
Regards
TB

Ok so.. Lets see..
I ordered and I got the game yesterday.. Put the disc install, steam started, updated and call of duty installed. This took about 30-40 minutes I think. not 100% sure though.
Anyways
Started the game.. changed my settings. Sadly.. I had to lower em upon starting the game. No biggy though ^^
And I was put right into the game. Very nice. Graphics are good, controls are easy. I noticed compared to World At War, there were a few things taken out. But it doesn't bother me much at all.
So anyways The story.. was excellent!
Anyways I stopped after a while, did some other things and then went to bed.
Next day.. (today) I played it.. and man sadly.. the levels were all so short.. I finished the game in less than like... 4 hours of playing.. Maybe abit more. But basically that amount.. So short as always..
So moving on.. i decided to give multiplayer a try. Now I've heard people complaining about the no dedicated servers. But I did keep an open mind.
So I click find game, and I get a matching type of system where it searches and puts you in a game even if you dont want to be in that one. No list like before </3
Anyways so I get into a game.. As Im playing.. bam lagg. All of a sudden it seems as if I lost control of my character and I see myself moving and such on its own. So Im like.. ok moving on.. And then.. next minute the host goes. Now the whole game ends and I have to look for a new game.
And man did it take quite a while to find a new game. Cause every time I found somebody. it would always say something about a good host not being found.
So lets round it up
Graphics, very nice
Sound, hey it's pretty good I must say. Y
Gameplay, Wonderful, you really are put into the game too. Lot's of stuff happening at once
Story, VERY good but EXTREAMLY short. Some levels are like.. 10 minutes if not less if I remember right..
Multiplayer, it's fun. but really.. the no dedicated servers make ruin it when you lagg and the whole losing the host or the cant find a suitable host to play.. So yeah..
Overall...
I would give it a 7.5
If story was longer.. multiplayer had dedis and didn't have all this losing the host and such.. and maybe more like.. 30 levels lol... I think it would get a 9 and a half to 10
Zubair, Kensington. 16 November 2009
great game, although the sp is short, the mp is LONG. I am running a 384 line and apart from the wait to get a game and the host dropping, this game rocks. Must buy
Shaun, Musgrave. 13 November 2009
Alright, today I got this game specifically to see whether all the complaints and crying etc are justified.
The truth is: This is one damn awesome game, and even with the issues it still warrants the price paid therefore.
Firstly, it took exactly 26 minutes to install. There are no hiccups, besides the fact that you have to create a Steam account if you never had one previously. The whole Steam method of installation uses approximately 25MBs of data, then you're ready to play.
The singleplayer campaign is nowhere near as horrific as people make it out to be. The full harshness of war has been recreated to a perfect degree, and this is already a step up from MW1. The graphics are pristine, and make the game even more engaging than ever. The gameplay is tense and spectacular, never once becoming dull and monotonous. The game is just as easy to pick up and play as the first MW. The sound is absolutely top-notch, a real pleasure for anyone who enjoys the concept of fighting in a full scale war.
There is only one reason why you would not want to buy this game- the fact that you cannot play LAN games without being connected to the internet. Otherwise this is one of the best multiplayers systems ever, and even people with 3G will experience no lag.
DO NOT listen to the comments of people who are writing this game off without having even played it! I felt exactly the same as they did, and after having played it and experiencing the joy of the multiplayer mode first-hand, I would recommend this game to any FPS fan.
To all those who have bought it - join the Steam Community group http://steamcommunity.com/groups/MW2_SA? and come join in some games, you'll be addicted instantly!

Im struggling for 5 days now and still I cant play COD because of the steam program that came along with the game. In the program steam you should download updates of the game and my updates dont want to download. The game cost me R500 and I spend more than R100 for internet data. If somebody know a solution please tell me what to do!!!! Computing Greeting.
Wiehan, Paarl. 12 September 2010
I red the reviews on this website and thought aah this game suks. A week ago my friend told me it was an aswsom game so I went to buy it. Downloading takes olmost forever but after that your gonna play the best game ever. All you weak raters of this game. You must use a good computer like i do. I bet you a hundred buks most of them have computers that isnt able to run the game like mine. Before buying this game make sure your computer can run it. Otherwise your just wasting money

As far as I am concerned this game is a huge disappointment.
Game is buggy and laggy.
Installation is a project on its own. Had to search the net and change file names to get the game installed.
Multiplayer is a waiting game, and some of the time the connection is so bad you can't play.
When you do get a game where the connection is fine you still get some lag every few minutes. Then again maybe it's my 4mb telkom connection that is not up to standard.
For me though this game was a total waste of money.
Hylton, Pretoria North. 13 November 2009
WARNING A FURTHER 2 GIG'S OF EXTRA CONTENT NEEDS TO BE DOWNLOADED BEFORE THE GAME CAN BE PLAYED!!
Leon, ERMELO. 9 September 2010
Excellent - Best War-game thus far, single player mode - resetting the cache would be usefull as indoor non-internet gaming is my world. My kid and I compete and therefore it is impossible to challenge skills on gaming in general -creating profiles would have been a + and a 10 at playability also.
Ian, CENTRAL. 11 November 2009
over 2 hours to install with multiple errors like 'server too busy to handle your request issues'
DO NOT BUY THIS game poor poor installation and no LAN multiplayer
Dudley, Koingnaas. 30 November 2009
Wouldnt recommend buying it unless you want to lose 10 years of your life due to the frustration of installing steam and getting the game going, its a nightmare!! Steam really ruined this otherwise good game..
Llewellyn, . 12 November 2009
Awsome game. played a lot last night. the only thing that hold SA back is the negative comments that was said before the game released. I think everyone that have played the multiplayer now and have seen the great gameplay and good ping on servers, will agree with me that its the best.
GREAT AWSOME STUNNING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steven, Durban. 21 January 2011
To Viehan S. Buddy. You are a cake!! It seems you are obviously not a discerning gamer. Your review was absolutely useless. You just wanted to rant about the fact that you bought this game and enjoyed it. I can assure you that most people who discuss or rate these games are running far better systems than your piddly little "Intel Core 2 Duo". You rave about your computer being so good but you only list it as Intel Core 2 Duo. that tells us NOTHING. haha. Let's do a poll and ask the people on this page, who already commented on this game, what systems they are running and you put your money where your mouth is. R100 for each person with a better rig than you. I'm entering first - (Intel Core i5 650; 4 GB DDR3 1333 ram; Nvidia GTX 570 gfx card. 700 Watt PSU.) My system isn't even something to brag about. By the way, Viehan. Any computer with a dedicated graphics card, that wasn't built 10 years ago, can run this game. obviously the settings will be low.
That said, I really did enjoy this game. I think it is more intense than MW 1, which makes up for the short SP campaign. I've played all the CoD's and this one is the most submersive yet.The graphics are good but aren't phenominal. Beware the massive STEAM downloads. If you have uncapped internet and enjoy FPS, get this game.
robert, BLOUBERGRISE. 30 June 2010
This game is so good.Multiplayer is addictive u can put attachments on your guns, use perks, killstreaks that u can actually controll unlike mw1 and so much more.Just campaighn is quit short but a must buy.
