Mass Effect 3 is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.Officially announced on December 11, 2010,the game is scheduled for a March 9, 2012 release and will mark the final chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy of videogames, completing the story of Commander Shepard.Gameplay in Mass Effect 3 will be influenced by decisions from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 and have settings throughout the galaxy, including Earth and Mars. Combat has been changed and refined; in particular, the cover system has been improved, there will be more options for moving around the battlefield, instant melee kills and more conventional grenades will be introduced as well as improved artificial intelligence. Mass Effect 3 will follow from the events of the Mass Effect 2 DLC expansion Arrival and follow Commander Shepard as he/she tries to save the galaxy from the Reapers by rallying civilizations of the galaxy together, while also having to deal with Cerberus, who have decided to turn against him/her.

The price of failure is extinction. <p> You are Commander Shepard, a character that you can forge in your own image. You determine how events will play out, which planets to explore, and whom to form alliances with as you rally a force to eliminate the Reaper threat once and for all. How you wage this war is completely up to you: go into combat with guns blazing or use cover to plan a more tactical assault. Utilize your squad to full effect or take a lone wolf approach. Rain death from a distance or go toe-to-toe with enemies using devastating melee attacks. Mass Effect 3 will react to each decision you make as you play through a truly unique experience of your own creation.

A 4 out of 5 for 98% of the game but the final 2%, the ending, is really terrible.

It is as if Bioware outsourced the endings to someone just vaguely familiar with the science, physics and lore of the Mass Effect universe.

Bioware's currently working on a free extended/clarification ending DLC which will hopefully resolve the plot holes and lore contradictions of the current endings.

If you are a true Mass Effect fan, I can't really recommend this game until they sort out the endings.

If you are a third person shooter fan, go ahead, it is pretty solid on that front.

Best release of 2012. If you havent played ME2 you might struggle with some of the back story but by reading your journal you can get updated on that pretty soon. I found the game had almost no bugs and missions seemed smooth and sensical. Just beware of your decisions, once they are made you cant go back and what seems like an easy answer might come back and haunt you later on.
