Of course you want to know — When do I get it?
We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).
If we say Pre-order it means that your item will be dispatched to you on the day it's released.
We always try our very best to get it to you as soon as possible but cannot guarantee same day delivery.
And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.
If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.

Word on the street is that cash is king!
Because we love giving you the most awesome online experience ... we now offer a COD (cash on delivery) payment option on certain orders.
That's right people, we're giving you even more choice than ever before! (as if that's even possible).
We think you'll be just as chuffed as we are about it.
So how exactly does COD (cash on delivery) work?
Simple really ... when placing your order(s) online, simply select COD as your preferred payment method and only pay for your goods when you receive them. Please have your cash ready when they get to your door!
If COD is not applicable to a particular product, we'll make it very clear on the product page.
At this point, COD is available for orders delivered within certain geographical areas and on select products based on value, if you don't see it as an option, then our nifty system has excluded you based on where you stay. If you aren't sure about where you fit in, just give us a shout and we'll help out - 0861 222 989 or info@takealot.com

The 250Gb Model is the exact one that I imported a few months ago. Granted my story my in fact be an isolated case, the reality exist that Microsoft has had a terrible history with the 360s. RROD have plagued the console, and for all intends and purposes it has to be the most unreliable console of the last 20 years. Having said that, the xbox 360 S is supposed to be more reliable, however the RROD issue remains. Ironically, the LED lights have been removed so your console won't ever be able to RROD, but the same hardware niggles remain. The additional cooling vents are intended to keep the console cool, and it does help to rather install your games to the console's harddrive, but much like my xbox 360 S, it will eventually red dot.
Reliability does not seem to appear in the vocabulary of Microsoft.

Excellent value for money.
The very first models (2005 / 2006) had their quirks but it remains an excellent system.
I have owned three Xbox 360 (2x Arcade 1x Elite) units and DID NOT experience any RROD funny business.
Look after your Xbox and it will look after you.

With the xbox 360, one idiom is more than applicable. 'Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me'. It's shocking that this reboot is selling so well, especially given the severe problems there have been with the xbox 360 consoles, be it as a result of cheap manufacturing, or shoddy hardware, we just can't ignore the past. RROD, disk scratching, E-74 errors, power brick problems etc. etc. Someone could probably write a thesis about how Microsoft has scammed us, and yet this console sells. It baffles my mind, and this during a recession. I just don't understand.
In any case, this is more of the same from microsoft.

Excellent console.
Redesign looks great!
Sufficient installation space with additional USB ports for profile mobility.
No substantiated reports of failure - i.e: check online in a reliable source (such as Google News) instead of the ps3 fanboys who've "reviewed" the console below.
Overall, a worthwhile purchase for anyone wishing to enjoy Halo Reach, Fable III, Call of Duty Black Ops, Forza 3, Gears of War 3 & Kinect.
For the record, my Xbox 360 has never given me problems (touch wood!) ; puchased in January 2008 & still working perfectly.
Those who claim disk scratches: very simple: just don't move the console when the disk is spinning.
As for RROD - simple - don't allow the console to overheat. Keep it well ventilated; ensure there's adequate space around it and give it a 30 minute break between every 3 hours of play.
You take care of it & it will give you years of gameplay pleasure!
Don't forget gamers - Xbox Live comes to SA in November!!!
Prateek, . 27 September 2010
Do not be fooled by mindless xbots, who have probably gone through at least 4 or 5 xboxes in the last 3 years. VJ is misinformed, since there are real problems with the 4gig model and online play as well as the fact that the slim is prone to overheating. Also disk scratching is not because of people moving the consoles, but because the disk tray is cheaply made and eventually starts to become worn. Reliability is a huge concern of the xbox 360 and any consumer must be informed about it. VJ also says Xbox live is coming to South Africa in November however this is still just a rumour. Unless it happens rather assume that much like the last 5 years Microsoft has been lying to us.

I bought my xbox 360 elite last year from take2 and i have not once had an issue. Dont know wtf you guys do with your xbox. If the xbox was so unreliable why would ppl buy keep on buying it? Keep your bais commets for yourselfs, k thnx.

Great console, playing long hours every day without any problems and prefer the xbox above my ps3 ,only issue is xbox live will only be available in December.

PS3 fanboys like Prateek Sanjay above me - go take a hike. You have obviously not bought the new console, as your are basing your points of flaws of the old console, and since when is this new console prone to overheating? It has a feature to automatically turn itself off if it thinks it's getting close to overheating...people should get their facts straight and stop posting their opinions, when they should be posting REVIEWS here.

This is the machine of the century... Xbox fans keep your machines handy Cause in november we will play hard.... This machine rocks... Ps3 bay-bay...

Awesome fun!

Brilliant! COD4 and Modern Warfare 2 online? Fantastic! I wont even bother responding to the PS3 geeks, I've got both, and the only downside to the Xbox WAS the RROD, which it seems has been sorted out, and I've had my xbox since dunno when, no problems, but i've seen it happen to one other guy, miscroft replaced it in a week. DHL babeeee.
Guys you cant go wrong with online gaming, its a tad expensive only cos of our providers, but Xbox Live, no lag at all! The 4meg line is just fine (i was worried about holding up the Americans, Asian and Spanish that play till 5 the morning our time).
Disc scratching happens, and I dont know where you find the time to move your console around while you in gamemode, make sure you exit correctly before removing the disc, and dont leave the stuff lying around, and you'll get value for your games.
Simply, Im getting rid of the ps3, I dont see anything about it at all that sets it aside from the Xbox, or even on par with Xbox. Dont talk to me about Blu-ray, that was out even before it was in. How many Blu-ray movies do you have? none? thought so. Gameplay? Exactly the same, no difference in the quality, your controllers suck a...game gets too hectic and then your fingers slip from that small, outdated controller. Once the Xbox bug bites then everything else is trivial..sorry I said I wont reply but I couldnt help myself.
Either way enjoy what you have and look after it, but if your strictly a gamer, dont bash the Xbox, thats where you'll come up short.
