Supplier out of stock

Of course you want to know — When do I get it?

We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:

If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).

If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.

If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).

Imports are a best effort service, we strive to get it to you as soon as possible within the guidelines above but it's not always within our complete control so if something goes wrong we will let you know.

And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.

If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.

Description

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of L4D casts four “Survivors” in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying “Boss Infected” mutants.

Valve’s next generation AI technology, allows for games of 1 to 8 players. Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of “Boss Infected,” each of whom possess a unique mutant ability such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas.

The gameplay takes place across four massive campaigns. The “zombie” population of each mission is choreographed by an “AI Director” that monitors the human players’ actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.

Based around an old LAN favourite of setting up a zombie match against bots with knives, passion for this type of game setup evolved over the past 3 years into Left 4 Dead.

Graphics are tweaked on the Source engine to provide a gloomier look in contrast to Half-Life 2 and its subsequent episodes, whilst at the same time complimenting the overall cinematic goal. Both the protagonists and infected are very well modelled and fit realistically into the apocalyptic environment.

The presence of a musical director does lend a feeling off eeriness to the whole experience, constantly altering the vast amount of atmospheric tones in order to manipulate the emotions of the player to the effect that it invokes an irrational fear of being in the dark. However sometimes when youre in the dark...

As always Valve does not disappoint in delivering a highly polished product, that is balanced and fun to play at every level of expertise, the AI director compensates for your performance on a real time basis, ensuring that the experience is always knife-edge. Your AI teammates make use of top notch algorithms and thus are very good at helping you fend off the hordes, and generally acting intelligent and interesting.

Criticism towards Left 4 Dead. Sometimes it feels as if the AI director has a vendetta against you. Allow me to provide an example: I spent 5 minutes clearing out a room around a witch so I could take her down without fear of being massed, however just as I'm creeping up behind her, an attack is triggered and a boomer proceeds to vomit on everybody, needless to say death followed under a tidal wave of dead and witch talons.

However I'm nitpicking, overall Left 4 Dead is very (I would not say infinitely) replayable and a great way to immerse oneself in a great multiplayer experience.

This game sucks. It is too easy, especially with multiplayer, and everything sucks about it.
