We strive at all times to get it to you sooner but here are some indications:
If we say In Stock, we dispatch same day (if ordered before 14:00 on a working day) and depending on where you stay it will be with you the next working day (Main Centres) or the next working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional).
If we say In Stock (You can also collect in cpt), the stock is available from our Cape Town warehouse and you can collect on the same working day if your payment has been authorised and you collect before 5pm.
If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within a working day after dispatched (Main Centres) or the working day after that (Regional Areas). If you are in a remote area it may take an additional working day (a day longer than Regional Areas).
Imports are a best effort service, we strive to get it to you as soon as possible within the guidelines above but it's not always within our complete control so if something goes wrong we will let you know.
And then there's a Friday, sigh... Try order early on a Friday, we can then try our best to get it to you on the same day (Main centres), otherwise we will have to get it to you during the next week.
If this is all too confusing, call us on 0861 222 989 or send an e-mail to info@takealot.com. One of our friendly employees will get back to you pronto.
In Red Alert 3, the desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.
Red Alert 3 asks the question "What If?" What if every bizarre research project and technology experiment for the last 70 years had actually borne fruit? What if the Philadelphia Experiment, time travel theory, teleportation, invisibility, Tesla technology, and a hundred other intriguing research projects had all paid off and gone mainstream? What if the Soviet Union survived and thrived; what would it look like 10 years in the future? What if the Japanese Empire had never fallen and instead became the ultimate high-tech military superpower? The end result is an imaginative and playful vision of an alternate future filled with possibility.

I'm a total Command and Conquer junkie, having played every game of the series since it first came out in the early 1990s. The Red Alert franchise was always my favourite, though, so naturally I made sure my Collectors Edition copy of Red Alert 3 was pre-ordered!
You can read proper reviews all over the net so I'll just give you a few of my thoughts on the game and its overall presentation.
1) Packaging: The steel book packaging of the collector's edition is STUNNING and worth the extra money on its own. The whole thing is sleeved within a hard plastic sleeve with screenshots and other art printed on it. The packaging of this game easily rivals the packaging of my Razer products, which I've always considered to be the best of the best in terms of game hardware packaging.
2) Graphics: For once, the screenshots are remarkably close to the real product. I'm able to run the game on full settings and it is really a treat for the eyes. The water is especially enjoyable, and wait till you see the sunken ships dotted around most maps. Gorgeous!
3) Playability: Fans of the RTS genre, and especially those with experience in the Command and Conquer franchise should feel right at home with the game mechanics in RA3. Of particular note is that EA has FINALLY introduced right-click commands, which makes much more sense as most other games use right-click move commands. If you're a die-hard old-school C+C fan though then the option to switch to left-click commands does exist. For anyone unfamiliar with RTS games, the included tutorials make learning the basics of the game a cinch, but there's no doubt that only practice can teach the real intricacies and nuances of playing this game the way it should be.
4) Sound: Crystal clear, and if you played RA2, you'll LOVE hearing the re-introduction of the classic 'Hell March' soundtrack, performed in game by 'From First to Last', a hardcore metal band from USA.
5) General thoughts: The collector's edition is well worth the money for the steel book packaging alone. However you'll also get a poster of all the beautiful women included in the game, plus a DVD of bonus content including video outtakes/bloopers, a video montage of the game's babes, and some other featurettes including an extended strategy discussion by some of the game's developers. The DVD is mostly pretty forgettable but it's nice to have. Another easter egg you won't read about until you own the game is that collectors edition owners are able to download an additional map-pack for the game once it is installed, by using a special code included in the packaging. Pretty cool!
All in all, I highly recommend the collector's edition. For only R100 or so more, you're getting great value for money in a package you won't easily lose.
