This is a marvellous collection of some of Judi Dench's work in BBC TV theatre, spanning the period from 1966 (TALKING TO A STRANGER)to 1991 (ABSOLUTE HELL). Most of these TV plays are dramas - the perfect vehicle for the controlled, yet moving performances one associates with this great actress, but there is also the opportunity to see Dame Judi in a less familiar role as a young coquette in the French farce KEEP AN EYE ON AMELIE. In the story of a teenager diagnosed with schizophrenia (CAN YOU HEAR ME THINKING?), Judi Dench and her late husband, Michael Williams, team up as the bewildered parents of the mentally ill boy.
Other well-known actors to appear in various roles, are Fulton Mackay & Norman Wisdom in GOING GENTLY from the novel by Robert Downs, Kenneth Branagh and Michael Gambon in the excellent GHOSTS by Henrik Ibsen, Bill Paterson and Harriet Walter in Anton Chekov's classic THE CHERRY ORCHARD, and Bill Nighy and Francesca Annis in the lively ABSOLUTE HELL, which Dame Judi said was her favourite.
Region 2 - Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland, French Overseas departments and territories.
