Description

Millions of fans watched Lamberts stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol and now those millions of fans are waiting for the release of the album and Adams first single, which Adam introduced on Ryan Seacrest's radio show Oct. 30. For Your Entertainment was written by Claude Kelly (Circus by Britney Spears) and Dr. Luke (I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry and Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne, Right Round by Flo Rida, along with multiple singles by Kelly Clarkson) and produced by Dr. Luke.

I feel so lucky to have been granted true opportunity to work with some of the top producers and writers in popular music, Says Adam. This album is a reflection of their genius and the collaborative energy that they were gracious enough to share with me.

The credits on Lamberts first album read like a list of the hottest artists in the music business. Lady Gaga, long cited as a major influence on Adam, c-wrote the track Fever with producer Jeff Bhasker. P!nk is a co-writer on Whataya Want From Me, along with Swedens Max Martin and Johan Shellback. Matthew Bellamy, of the British prog rock/eletronica band Muse, one of Adams favorite groups, wrote Soaked.

Justin Hawkins, who was lead singer of the acclaimed British quartet the Darkness, wrote the lead track on the album, Music Again. Rivers Cuomo, co-founder, lead singer and principal songwriter for Weezer, is one of the writers on Pick U Up, along with Lambert and Greg Wells (I Do Not Hook Up, Kelly Clarkson).

There are other stellar names featured in the credits on Adams debut release. Rock goddess Linda Perry, responsible for hits like Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and Get The Party Started by P!nk, is the writer and producer of A Loaded Smile. Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, whose credits include Bleeding Love for Leona Lewis and Halo for Beyoncé, wrote and produced Sleepwalker.

Adam co-wrote four of the songs on his album. In addition to Pick U Up, Adam penned Strut with Greg Wells and American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi; Aftermath with Alisan Porter, Ferras and Ely Rise; and Broken Open with Wells and Evan Bogart (whose credits include S.O.S. by Rihanna and Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny) from Slumdog Millionaire.

Four of the tracks on For Your Entertainment are produced by Rob Cavallo, the A-list producer who has worked with Green Day, My Chemical Romance, David Cook, Alanis Morisette, Chris Isaak, Paramore, Jewel, Shinedown and Dave Matthews Band. Cavallo produced Music Again, Soaked, Sure Fire Winners and the bonus track, Time For Miracles, from the soundtrack to the new motion picture, 2012.

I must agree. I was a huge fan of his from American Idol. I saw a review somewhere, where they said that the album is a disappointment etc, but I bought it anyway. So happy I did, because it's my favourite CD of the moment, and possibly of my whole collection besides my Pink albums :D. And coincidently, my favourite song WHATAYA WANT FROM ME, was written by Pink.

Anyhoo, so if anyone is uuming and aahing whether to buy this or not, I would say BY IT NOW, you'll be singing along right from the first song (which is also one of my favs), MUSIC AGAIN. Enjoy....

First of all let me say I was a BIG fan of Adam on American Idol since the first time i saw him.

When I heard his first album was coming out I was exploding with curiosity and excitement to see(/hear) what it was gonna be like. To me, and to most other people, it was expected to be more rock.

I was quite "caught of guard" at the type of music on it. I was amazed at how "easy" it was to listen to this type of music which i normally steer clear of. But as soon as I got to Fever i was hooked. It is such a good song and it really gives a little nudge in the energy apartment that makes you want to jump and start dancing. For Your Entertainment, the first single on the album, is a really good "hip/now" song. His AMA interpretation of this song was a bit weird but not bad. Anyway that was a bit off topic.

The rest of the album has loads of great songs on it. Mt favourite at the moment, and the next single, Whatya want from me is an awesome song.
Adams vocals are really amazing on the album. Some songs makes him do the famous "scream" :P
Some songs go slow and really introduces you to the tenderness of his voice.

All round this is a really good album, easy to pick up, great songs, great sounds and just plain fun to listen to.

You go Adam Lambert! Can't wait for the new singles Music Video!!

I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed the more electro/dance oriented tracks as I'm not really into that genre, but more of an old rock chick. Granted Adam could sing the dictionary and still sound good, but these songs are far superior to what I had expected and to me just keep getting better the more I hear them. Highlights: The pounding toungue-in-cheek naughtiness of FYE (who saw the AMA's;)?!!),the pure dance pleasure of "Fever", by that other weird and wonderful apparition known as Lady Gaga, the fabulously over the top "Soaked", written by Matthew Bellamy of MUSE(another fav band if mine since the 90's), the Pink authored power ballad "Whataya Want From Me", the glam anthem "Music Again" by The Darkness' frontman Justin Hawkins and the radio friendly "Sleepwalker". There's a little something for everyone here and I personally can't get enough of Adam's stunning voice, weather he's grinding, wailing or crooning! The only thing missing here are the 2 bonus tracks (only available as downloads in the US) "Masterplan" (Anthemic brilliance and exceedingly superior to Sure Fire Winners or Strut) and "Down The Rabbit Hole" ( a trippy, psychedelic stroll down "Bowie-lane") which in my opinion are both excellent and should've been included, even at the expense of some of the other tracks not included in my highlights list.
