Creed's new album is probably about as good as one can expect. That's not to say it's bad. There are some great songs on this album, particularly Overcome, Bread of Shame and Thousand Faces - all 2 of which have that great 'Creed' sound. But those being the first three songs of the album, things tend to get a little bit boring after that. By the ninth song you start to feel they're possibly just filling space.
Perhaps the problem is I am comparing it to their previous work, as well as Alter Bridge (the same band with vocalist Myles Kennedy). Creed aren't the same band they were when they split seven years ago, and their music won't be either, I guess.
So while not bad, and certainly not fantastic, its exactly as I said - about the best one could have expected. On a side note, it is good to hear Scott Stapp can still hit the high notes, and it's also great to hear guitarist Mark Tremonti letting loose in some superb solos.
