Description
Tune Raider (Pamm Legg) hit the scene in 2003, 21 years old and very enthusiastic. After years of outdoor parties the DJ bug had bit, and while completing a 2 year acting diploma at ¡®City Varsity¡¯ Tune Raider became a frequent Trance club DJ for Organafix, Upstairs, Babylon and small out door parties. In 2005 Pamm teamed up with ¡®Dave Mac¡¯ and Mutha Fm an internet based radio station, and soon the ¡®Twisted Sessions¡¯ became Tune Raider¡¯s Thursday evening show. Soon after that she played her 1st Vortex / Prism and rocked the party wearing fairy wings (just for the FUN of it). From that day forward she frequented bigger stages such as Earth Dance, Alien Safari, Prism and Vortex. Earth dance is close to her heart because of the charity initiative behind it, that is how she was first spotted with her charity party ¡®Power to the pussy presents punani¡¯, and the teddy bear parties where the money raised goes to buy teddies for orphanages.
For four years Pamm worked on a documentary film called ¡®Under The African Sky ¨C The journey of outdoor trance culture¡¯. The debut South African DVD release in November 2008 to a full cinema was a resounding success. The documentary describes the sub©\culture initiated in a time of oppression when the political freedom in South Africa created a musical movement to take root allowing all cultures and races to meet with a common consciousness. From this dance of freedom and influence from Goa India the outdoor Psy©\Trance scene was born. The film reveals how the present Psy ¨CTrance landscape developed into its present day entity from the holistic ideals that the scene originated. The DVD is filled with unique footage from the earliest staged events with interviews from party promoters, DJ¡¯s, producers, record labels and partygoers. It¡¯s a must see by all who are interested in music and culture.
In mid 2009 Lady Lea and Divas on Decks welcomed Tune Raider to head line the Psy©\Trance division creating opportunity to introduce Psy ¨C Trance to new dance floors around the country. ¡®Divas on Decks¡¯ volume two promote South African Psy©\Trance artists ©\ Home grown just the way we like it!
