A History of USB Innovation
Roland introduced the world's first USB MIDI Interface, the S-MPU64, in 1998, as well as the world's first USB audio interface, the UA-100. In 1999 Roland debuted the worlds first USB MIDI sound module, the SC-8850, which could supply 96 simultaneous parts. In 2003, we launched the world's first multi-port Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0 audio recording interface, the UA-1000.
More than just being the first, however, Roland has maintained a meticulous track record of product stability. Solid, low-latency ASIO drivers are the basis of our USB products. We develop our USB MIDI/Audio drivers in house, which allows us to optimize the specs for each product, and gives us the flexibility to quickly update our drivers to correspond with new OS releases and to add new features.
