I am very happy with these headphones. I have never experienced such clear quality sound and it with its low impedance it runs of a sound-card just fine. It is also very comfortable, even when wearing spectacles! Highly recommended.

These are some quality headphones. Don't expect the heavy base that you would find in the Beats series or other headphones. The HD380 replicate the sound it is meant to be heard, without all the bells and whistles that the other headphone manufacturers throw into the mix. The sound you get is clear - crystal clear, in fact. The ear cups are large, larger than most headphones, so they do not sit on, or anywhere near the edge of the ear. On the downside, the detachable audio cable extends to 3m (its a spiral), but it weighs a good amount, so portability with these phones could be an issue. Rather buy a smaller cable if you want to take them out. They are also not so sleek-looking on your head. The construction is fairly bulky. You can see these are more for a music studio than for sitting at a coffee shop. But otherwise, these are a great pair of headphones and I will be keeping them.

Very nice headphones, amazing sound quality,
but to really power these you need a decent amp/dac, that is better than the standard onboard stuff.

Brilliant headphones! Was looking for a pair to use for gaming (PS4). Not too keen on gaming headphones, so gave these a try. Using them with my Yamaha RX-V371 amp. Once I selected the correct setting on the amp, and turned the bass up 2 notches I was amazed.Comfortable, great noise isolation, incredible sound! Highly recommended.

The sound is clear as it should be on monitoring headphones. The closed back drivers make for a very isolated sound. I am very I pressed with the quality of the sound and am able to hear specific sounds much better, for instance the bass or treble levels of the vocalist, or distortion on one of the pre-sets on our electric drums, where before it was difficult to hear. It's a great product and I would recommend it to any sound professional that needs decent monitoring headphones.

Keeps getting better after some hours of use. Ultra clear sound!

Hands down the best headset i have ever used. Absolutely amazing
Make sure to combine with a sound card with a built in headphone amp (asus dg) and prepare to be blown away

Intro - I've done a lot of research and these are definitely the best bang for buck headphones in this category, especially in SA where we have little to choose from locally.
Sound - Very flat, excellent response and goes very very low, I hear 20 Hz on a test file, the bass is tight and responsive but not overly emphasized, just as it should be. Mids sounds very flat and detailed and the highs are also flat and there are definitely no harsh peaks that make your ears want to bleed as with cheaper earphones.
Comfort - Very comfortable. The earcups are very large and deep and your ears won't feel a thing. It has a tight fit on your head to block outside noise. I have a big head and don't find it too tight at all.
Usage - Excellent for listening to music. Due to the good seal and blockage of outside noise, and coupled with the rather flat frequency response these would also make for excellent budget monitor headphones.
Other - The long cable comes in handy sometimes and other times it feels a bit in the way (being heavy and coiled). Luckily the cable is replaceable so you can order a cable online that has the standard 3.5 mm jack on the one end and a 2.5 mm jack on the headphone's end to use in these situations.
Conclusion - If these fall in your budget you should consider buying it. Sennheiser products are well-made, and it comes with an excellent 2 year warranty with good support in SA. In the ridiculously rare chance that you are not happy, Takealot has a good return policy.

If you want crystal clear clarity and quality you've never experienced before, these are for you. The best in their class. Powered off of an iPhone, iPad or Galaxy device just fine, bonus.
Turn up the bass 1 notch and sit back and be amazed.

These headphones are amazing! They work so well when it comes to sound and the fact that I can wear it for long periods of time without feeling pressure applied to my ears! This is a must buy without a doubt.

These headphones are excellent at noise isolation and have superior sound quality for work purposes and for listening to music!

I was looking for a set of high quality head phones with a budget that was not sky high.
The requirements included a wired headphone that covers my ears, able to be used with a mobile phone, offers clear sound and offers long listening comfort.
I read that some people had difficulty fitting their HD380 Pro into the carry case - I had none of that.
I have worn them for full day working periods up to 9 hours at a time - very comfortable
Their is no battery operated noise reduction, just a set of large over the ear pads. Noise reduction is very good. It blocks out most of the noise around me, and with Windows Media Player set to 100% and system volume set to 3% - yes three percent, I can listen clearly to my music whilst still being able to hear people around me (if they talk loudly). But i can just as easy block out all around me. Very good!
I am keen to give them a try on the aeroplane (another main reason for purchase)
The cable is rather heavy, but gives good reach. The chord can pull your phone off the table it's that heavy. Possible the only downside.
I like that it comes with a 3.5mm jack - so I can use it with my iPhone.
It also comes with a larger adapter jack if you want to use it on a guitar amp etc (have not tried it yet though)
I read that the cable is detachable, but I am not quite sure how do detach it yet - will google some more ;)
I have used these headphones for about 6 months now, and they are in the same condition as they were when I received them.
I am no expert, but the sound quality sounds rather good to me - offering a very neutral sound and not excessive bass. Classical music sounds rather good. But then again, I am no expert.
Would I buy this product again based on what I know now?
Yes I would. Given a larger budget... That will be a different choice then, but I won't go away from the Sennheiser brand!
