Academy-Axard winner** Matt Damon is trained assassin Jason Bourne. Having lost his memory and the one person he loved, he is undeterred by the barrage of bullets from a new generation of trained killers, tracking his every move and who will stop at nothing to prevent him from learning his true identity. The Bourne Ultimatum unfolds with heart-stopping action, death-defying stunts and white-knucled excitement in the film critics are calling "The best action picture in decades".

The thing I like about the Bourne trilogy is the way they make so plausible that a man can exist, indeed thrive, in a modern 24 hour surveillance setting. Sure there's some suspension required, but Bourne's a good enough good guy so I'll let it slide. What I like here is that Bourne is portrayed as vulnerable; even he can make mistakes as shown in the Tangier showdown. Even so, it remains a pleasure seeing him use his resourcefulness to overcome his situations and his setbacks. Blu-ray quality is the normal Universal high standard in terms of content and AV presentation. And where this is best highlighted is during the station stand-off at the beginning, where the sharp picture quality makes each member of the crowds distinct while the DTS-MA sound perfectly conveys the hustle of the crowded locale. A warning though: when things start going "boom", "bang" and "screech", you might want to keep a careful finger on the remote's volume control.
