This is a great game for 2 players. It takes a bit of setup and needs a decent table to play on (our coffee table isn't big enough). Much like Dominion, you have various setups available, so it isn't the same game style every game.
Unfortunately, was thoroughly underwhelmed by the packaging. This is because I have Dominion, which has had careful though put in to the division of cards and how multiple packs would work. Fortunately, it doesn't detract from the game itself.

At first we were worried that a 2 player version of Catan would not have the same level of enjoyment than the original 4 player (or 6 player with expansion pack). While it falls slightly short of that experience, it still is highly enjoyable when you cannot get the larger crowd together.

An absolute must for any Catan fan! My wife and I love playing Catan, but we don't often have enough players for the full board game. We are really enjoying this 2-player version. It does take up a lot of space though (more than the board game), so not suitable for on a plane or similar.
The box doesn't have holders for the cards, so they just rattle around, as the box is more than twice the size it needs to be, in order to fit the large instruction book. I made my own little boxes so that the cards are kept tightly contained, but that's only because I'm really fussy about keeping my cards looking pristine.
Very happy with this purchase.
