This Access Point is great, like all TP-Link products. the only area its a VERY BIG let down is its ease of use. The access point this one is replacing was much more straight forward and easy to use, with clear and easy to understand english. This one is much more difficult to set up, probably since its more for business use and clearly they think anyone who buys this will get it set up by a genius.
Mine is nearly set up now, what convinced me to get it was the Portal feature, very nice but unfortunately a PC needs to run at all times for it to work, luckily you can schedule when it is online or not so when my PC is off that SSID is off as well.
So far, one downside compared to my very cheap R450 router that is over 6 years old is the signal strength is not as good as the cheap one, but I should say that this new AP is not mounted the way it should be YET. Once that it done I hope it will be at least as powerful as my old WR743ND.
I like the 16 SSID's, even though its only 8 for each of the 2.4 and 5Gh'z Still, that is more than what I could possibly need.
One word of warning to those that would like to run this over POE and lets face it, with this thing mounted to the ceiling its basically your only option. What you need is a POE IEEE802.3af Injector. the old passive POE adapters won't work as that uses half the wires in the Cat5 cable, for older routers and switches its fine but this is a Gigibit AP, so it used all 8 strands in that Cat5 cable.
Overall, i'm happy with the product.
