Despite the fact that the interface this provides is a dual-link DVI-I, I am unable to get any of my D-SUB monitors to actually work. The machine registers that the monitor is connected, but the image never appears on the screen, and the screen switches to power saving mode.
I was a able to plug a DVI monitor in, without issue, but I was hoping that due to the interface being DVI-I, I could use it for my D-SUB monitors.

This product is defective due to non-compliance with the VESA standard. VESA is the standards body that developed the Display Port interface. The product therefore also falsely advertises "Supports AMD Eyefinity".
I had been struggling to figure out why this adapter wasn't working correctly, experiencing the same rote of problems as many other people in a similar scenario. Eventually, I found an explanation.
The short version of the problem: the non-compliant cable passes electrical current from the monitor back to the PC graphics card. This causes a variety of malfunctions, and also has potential to damage computer hardware.
A full detailed explanation can be read here:

A list of compliant adapters can be found below. The Unitek adapter in question is not on the list:

I would like to suggest that Takealot revises stocking this item, as its defective nature will be across the board. Perhaps Takealot can consider stocking the compliant adapters listed above.

Does not work. I bought a different brand of adapter which works perfectly with the same monitor and graphics card combination. I would advise anyone against buying this one.
