Not a bad book, but I think Unisa should rethink it as an option for COS2614. There are better options out there, the book isn't very teaching. Lot of info, yes, but it struggles to get the concepts across.

One of the best C++ textbooks I've had. Highly focused on open source technologies.

I'm using the online version on ICS website. Honestly, this has to be the most confusing prescribed textbook ever. I can't wait to finish this module. I have to rely on YouTube tutorials to get a better understanding.

I'm only giving this book 2 stars for its good Qt coverage, but as a design pattern textbook it misses the point completely. If your intention is to learn design patterns and your university uses this book I would suggest you also get hold of "Design patterns: Elements of reusable object-oreinted software" by the gang of four.
