Excellent cooler, a little time consuming to install but well worth it. It is keeping an i7 4790 well within limits, even with the heat we have had lately the temp does not go above 50 deg Celsius under load.
Veeash, South Africa. 24 March 2016
Excellent cooler. Best bang for buck. I'm using it on an Intel core i7 3770k processor and with stock speed I get ~30 degrees on idle and ~50 degrees with 100% load. I managed to successfully overclock to 4.2ghz with temperature hitting 60 odd degrees at 100% load for about 10 minutes and at 4.4ghz I got 80 odd degrees at 100% load for 15 minutes.
I did buy a second fan and install it on this cooler as it comes with the extra bracket to do so.
I don't think you're going to get a better cooler for this price.
Also, the image is deceiving. This thing is HUGE.
Jason, South Africa. 27 March 2017
this beast is huge and hard to install. I had to youtube a video to get it installed. I am a techie ... and this just got me really good. but it is in and running with no noise really. I like it.
Michael, South Africa. 7 April 2015
Great product. Lowered my CPU temp by almost 30C and runs silently.
Grant, South Africa. 11 February 2015
Awesome CPU cooler! Reaches similar cooling as low end closed loops water coolers. A drop of 25 degrees!
Christopher, South Africa. 17 June 2015
Works really well. Keeps my CPU cool as stated. Installation was a bit of a pain but that's okay.
Leon, South Africa. 2 February 2017
Super quiet, easy to install. Came with it's own thermal paste. Just make sure of the dimensions of your case, most of the case spec sheets give you a maximum size for the cpu cooler it can fit.
Jeremy, South Africa. 6 February 2015
Really good, dropped my cpu temp from 83 to 45 degrees.
Quintin, South Africa. 18 April 2017
Installed this on my i7 4970k. The mounting plate was easy to attach to the motherboard. Fitting the heatsink itself was a little clumsy but not too problematic. CPU runs at 31 degrees when idle and bumps up to around 51 degrees during gaming. Overall I am happy with the product.
Warren, South Africa. 4 December 2014
Took a while to install but well worth it.
Installed on a 1156 board with a i5 750 (overclocked).
Previously running at around 80C (on stock cooler) at full load - now running at around 40C.
Jonathan, South Africa. 16 May 2016
Cheap and effective. Can now overclock my CPU by 30%!
Zaheer, South Africa. 20 September 2015
Bought this for my FX 8350. Easy to install if you follow the instructions. Thanks to this my idle temp is now 31 degrees with the fan operating at a quiet 1100 rpm

I bought this for my AMD FX-8320 and I love it.
So first of all, the thing is HUGE !!! I know everybody has already said that but you never really know until you finally see it with your own eyes.
Second of all..... its extremely difficult to install, I needed a friend to help me put it together although I believe you can do it alone... it comes with a Fully Illustrated instructional manual, However, theres an error on of the illustrations, they mixed up the D screws with the G Screws. You may also need Rubbing Alcohol/Surgical Spirits to clean the old thermal paste off your CPU and Cooler Master doesn't give any.
And last but not least... This thing is extremely quiet while idle, my case fans are louder than it is.... and under load it emits a subtle Humm that you won't notice unless you really listen for it. But most importantly it tamed my FX-8320. It never goes 60ºC.
Julian, South Africa. 6 February 2015
For Oldschool CPU cooling the Coolermaster™ Hyper 212x really works great, on idle temperature are about 35ºc ~ 40ºc and max 63ºc Stock and on max 75ºc on a AMD FX i6 CPU, and If say you would add a extra fan will bring it down slightly.

This is an excellent cpu cooler. I did not install it myself. It has really made a difference to the temps on my pc. I am glad that I purchased this cpu cooler. I know this product is built with high quality standards. It comes with thermal paste and screws. Well another great product from Takealot. Highly recommended.
Justin Justin, South Africa. 23 August 2015
The price of this cooler is unbelievable! Takealot is nearly R200 cheaper than anywhere else. I haven't installed it as yet but the online reviews are legendary at this price range. It will beat an entry level water cooler at less than half the price

Installed today on my i7, dropped the temps during stress tests (prime95) from 80 degrees to 60 degrees. Very impressed
Shih-Hsun, South Africa. 17 February 2015
After reading numerous online reviews of this CPU cooler, I finally decided to go for it. Previous reviews claimed huge temperature drops so I decided to give this a go.
Installation instructions are clear and precise. Also there are many youtube videos on installation of this cooler.
System specs are as follows:
i7 3770K CPU @ stock speed 3.5GHZ > turbo boost to 3.9Ghz
8GB Corsair RAM
Asus Z97 LGA 1155 motherboard
Cooler Master HAF 922 case with 200mm front intake, side intake, top exhaust with bottom 80mm intake and back 80mm exhaust.
I've had it for a few days now and after stress-testing and running a few programs, I can conclude that this is a good choice for entry-level air cooling for those who do not wish to use liquid cooling.
Why entry level?
Firstly, using the Intel Burn Test (v2.54) program with High stress level settings, load temperatures reached 72 degrees.
But, BSOD appeared when I ran the Burn In Test again using Very High stress level settings. This showed CPU temperature instability.
Idle temperatures are between 33 and 36 degrees when monitoring with CPUID Hardware Monitor.
Previous temperatures on stock Intel cooler were 37 degrees idle and 75 under full load.
However, on Prime95 tests, the CPU was stable and no BSOD appeared. Load temperatures were 71 degrees.
I am using Arctic Cooling MX-2 thermal compound and not the thermal compound that came supplied with the CPU cooler.
Idle temperatures are pretty much the same as the Intel Stock cooler but load temperatures dropped about 10-15 degrees.
A bit disappointing considering all the online reviews I read about this CPU cooler.
I do not plan on overclocking any time soon with this CPU cooler as load temperatures could potentially be too high. However, Ivy Bridge CPUs do run considerably hotter than other CPUs which has to be taken into consideration.
This cooler is perfect for users who are looking to bring their CPU temperatures down during the hot summer. However, if you're planning on overclocking with this CPU cooler, rather save up and invest in a decent water cooling system as temperatures will still get hot with this cooler even if you set it up with an additional fan for the push/pull configuration.

Great product keeps my 4790 cpu really cool but a little tricky to install at first and its huge..Great delivery from Takealot.
Wesley, South Africa. 25 August 2015
Amazing CPU cooler, great price/performance. I put this on my i5-4670k and it now runs at 17 degrees at idle and 64 degrees max temp at 100% load at 3.8Ghz on intel burn test.
Phillip, South Africa. 29 June 2015
Best cooler for the price
Suhayb, South Africa. 2 May 2017
It's a pretty cool product
Eh keeps my amd cool and doesnt high temp anything.
haydn, South Africa. 8 November 2014
works better than my stock cooler took a while to set up.
Lungelo, South Africa. 18 May 2016
After buying this cooler, my pc is running cooler and quite even when gaming or using heavy/demanding software. I recommend this cooler, made my friend buy it after proving to him that its the best. And supports 2 120 fans, what more can I ask for.
Christina, South Africa. 19 February 2015
It's a bit difficult to install into socket 1150, but I managed it while building my first PC. Core i5 4690k idles at about 28-32C and peaks under full load stress testing at about 57-60C (no overclock). One issue is ram clearance. If I had my corsair vengeance ram in the closest slot to the fan it wouldn't fit.
SP, South Africa. 26 January 2017
This beast reduced my temps from my stock cooler by more than 30C. Installation was not very easy, but took only about 30min. Really good performance and very happy with the Hyper 212x.
Wynand, South Africa. 19 June 2015
awesome cooler. added an extra 120mm fan and it dropped my i7 920 oc to 4.0ghz from 89° to 35°. really impressed!
really not difficult to install.
Christopher, South Africa. 7 January 2017
100% satisfied. Easy, if not fun, to install.
My i7 4790K was suffering this summer with the intel stock cooler, now its never over 57 degrees under load.
This thing is as big as it is beautiful.
My only regret is not investing in it sooner.
Kevin, South Africa. 22 June 2015
Awesome cooler for the price, looks nice too. :)
Jakobus, South Africa. 31 January 2017
Great product - no more overheating!
Gerhard, South Africa. 25 January 2017
Easy to fix and dropped the temperature of my CPU by about 20*C. Defiantly good value for money.
Richard, South Africa. 8 February 2017
Very good cooler easy to install and works very well
Marcus, South Africa. 15 October 2015
Pretty good cooler. Runs around 2-3 deg hotter than the H80 watercooled system its replacing, but it's also a good deal quieter.
Andre, South Africa. 22 February 2016
This cooler is really worth every penny. It is cooling a Intel i7 4790k satisfactory.
Heinrich, South Africa. 22 February 2016
Quite a big installation process, but afterwards halved my CPU temperature. Just ensure that your case can fit this size. I thought my PC case was big, until I saw this products size.
Jaco, South Africa. 25 May 2017
Brilliant product - out performed my old liquid cooler (H100).
Bios Boot Temp @ 17 degrees Celsius
Current idle temp @ 25~28 degree Celsius
Peek Temp at load @ 52 degree Celsius
Managed to drop about 15~20 degrees on i7 quad core CPU
Hsin-Chieh, South Africa. 8 May 2015
Great cooler... a bit tough to install but watching a youtube guide its not a problem.
Dropped my idle temps by over 10degrees
Denzil, South Africa. 21 July 2015
amazing cooler, have this set up in push/pull and you'll never go wrong, load temps on my i5 2400 clocked @ 3.6ghz is 53°c using Zalman thermal paste, installation is easy enough just a bit tricky depending on your case and what socket you're installing it on, recommended for any high powered build, great air cooler alternative to the aio watercoolers
DaNiE, South Africa. 1 March 2016
Excellent cooler uped my clocks from 3.4GHz (underclocked) -3.8GHz and I get 66'C MAX whereas with the stock cooler I got between 85-95'C under load on a i5-3470(which is a hot cpu) so I would definitely recommend this cooler to anyone!!!
Takes a long time to install is only drawback but its worth it!!!
CM said the cooler is 158mm and my Bitfenix Neos case can handle up to 158mm coolers so someone is lying as the cooler presses the window a bit. So make sure your case is atleast 159mm compatable. :D
Lungelo, South Africa. 28 October 2015
What a good product, super quite and my cpu temperature dropped all that at a cheaper price. Also adds that beast look on my pc. Great product I recommend for anyone who wants an after-market cooler!! #CM
Shadrack, South Africa. 16 June 2016
Excellent cooling ability for it's price that's if optional fan is installed. Quieter than I expected, that's a plus. Love it's huge size too.
Tersia, South Africa. 22 February 2016
Works perfectly! Even bigger than I thought.
charles, South Africa. 10 June 2017
Really an amazing CPU cooler for it's price fit it with my i7 7700K and it's amazingly staying at les than 50° after overclocking.
