Awesome buy @ R2799 (Daily Deal). The Android integration works well. Installed Kodi and is happy with it's functionality (works well with the standard remote too). It also have very good display. Exceeded my expectations.
ONLY issue is with the sound, hence the 4 star rating. It's very tinny (not even a hint of bass). Better get a home theater system or sound bar with it if you want to have a nice movie or gaming experience.

Most Playstore applications crash and gives unexpected error.
Android Version 4.4.2, unable to update to newer versions. JVC Customer Support confirmed that it is not possible to update to any other versions.
If I knew this before I would have rather bought a 40" non smart tv and a Googlecast device

The specifications were that it came with 3x HDMI Ports, 3x USB Ports and 4GB of internal storage.
What I was met with are the following:
2 x USB Ports
2 x HDMI Ports
1 gigabyte of internal storage (Available)
From the time you power it on you have to wait 33 seconds before it boots up goes into a broadcasting channel.( any television 10 seconds or less can still suffice as standard, NOT 33 seconds.)
After updating the television's applications via the Google Playstore the Television keeps on crashing and reboots constantly. Doing a complete factory reset has also proven fruitless in this regard. In a nutshell this proves to be very frustrating and not "SMART" at all.
It also reboots constantly while watching a movie.(complete mood breaker if you with a loved one)
Stay far away from this panel. Not worth the frustration.

A fantastic tv. Picture clarity is amazing with lots of extras. However, it takes ages to switch on and the sound is very tinny. I have tried adjusting the settings but nothing makes it better. I play it through my surround system because the sound is very irritating.

Very good Buy.
I dont like JVC because of previous experience with their customer care. But this is a good tv. Pic quality is very good. Takes time to turn on. But nowhere near as long as I was expecting after reading these reviews.

Got this puppy on a Daily Deal last week and pretty happy with what I got for what I paid. R2700.
BUT - This TV is NOT Full HD - it does not display a native 1080P picture.
Anyways, picture is pretty damn good, I installed Kodi v16 and it runs smoothly, no problems whatsover. The Kodi is fast and even better than that running on my standalone MyGica media player. Love it.
Boot up time to switch tv on is a bit slow, but it doesn't bother me, only gets switched on once a day.
The sound is terrible, tinny. Like laptop speakers, only louder. Zero bass. And there is no option at all to output the sound from the tv. Nothing.

Easy setup and slim display. Was really excited to get a smart TV in a 32 inch that worked well in my bedroom. What is great is that the TV is android based. Up to this point everything is great. The tv however has poor colour depth,a bit slow to boot up and overall picture quality and sharpness not great. I have tried to adjust several settings but it does not improve picture. Will need to contact JVC to understand if there are issues with this model.

If you are buying this TV because you want a small smart TV don't waste your time. This in not a smart TV it is not compatible with Plex and i would not be surprised if it was not compatible with similar software. It is also not a standard size for wall brackets so if you plan to mount it you are going to have a bad time. Picture quality is fine.

Not a tv you want to buy if you are looking for a smart tv - constantly drops wi-fi connection - cannot watch anything online - horrible remote basically just good for switching on and off - had to download the mobile remote on my phone to operate this tv - i now have the hdmi cable plugged in attached to a laptop to watch anything online - really crap tv - do not buy if you are looking for a smart tv - image quality and colour also NOT good at all - you will be better off buying something else.

A lot of bang for the buck.
It is smart, wifi, network connected and full HD capable in a convenient 32" size. More than enough inputs on the back including PC VGA connector.
When plugging in an HDMI cable from an external device (laptop) it is capable of displaying full HD.
The smart TV side does not work with ShowMax, my main aim for buying this TV.
On installing the ShowMax app it simply gives a message stating:
"An error has occured. This device might be incompatible with ShowMax."
I did not try it with Netflix.
It does not appear as if the Smart side of things are able to drive the TV at full HD. This includes the installed Youtube app. The manual warns that only the installed version is compatible with the TV?
Takes a few seconds to start up, probably booting the smartness, but it does mean you can't just flick it on and start watching.
Analog TV tuner only, a bit of a waste on a digital TV.
Picture ok, Sound slightly thin.

A really disappointing "smart tv", as it really doesn't have the processing power to be such. Remote signal massive problem, USB reliability fails over and over with media usage, apps fail to connect through wifi... generally a disappointing buy for myself!

I picked this up on special at R2690 on a chance that it would be good and knowing that with Takealots 30 day return I knew that I could return it if it didnt meet expectations. But there is no need for that, we are very happy with the TV. 5 stars for functionality and 4 for display (fades slightly when viewed at quite an angle) but nice that its 1080P Built in media player works very well. I have yet to test the wifi and "screen cast" functionality. Well done Takealot for a great product

This product is absolute crap it was delivered and when I opened the box I was shocked to find that the TV doesn't have a remote control, intructional manual or any cabling it was a complete second hand tv, I will never buy from takalot or any JVC product ever!

The display is OK, but you cannot manually change the contrast and brightness yourself, as only the presets are allowed.
The remote is crappy, or let me say, the functionality provided by the remote is crappy. The TV runs Android 4.4, whether it is Android TV is unknown, since it appears that the UI is still designed for touch instead of remote control.
Navigation is very troublesome when it comes to searching and installing apps form the Play Store.
Although you can install SHOWMAX on the TV from the Play Store, you have trouble signing in due to the user interface expecting you to have a touchscreen. After using the remote control app from my phone, was I able to sign into SHOWMAX. Unfortunately SHOWMAX identifies the TV as a "rooted" Android device, and will not play any titles.
As for DSTV NOW (Catch up), it encounters similar issues as SHOWMAX for signing in. However, you are unable to register the TV as a playback device on DSTV NOW because it states that the Device is already registered with another user. Since I was the first user of the TV, I suspect that either 1) the device code is generic and only the very first person to have registered DSTV NOW on the JVC TV is also the only persone to use DSTV NOW accross all JVC Smart 32" TVs, or 2) DSTV need to sort their issues of generating unique device ids form non Samsung products. (I have a similar issue on my Lenovo tablet)
Other than that, it is an below-average not-as-smart-as-expected TV.

DON'T BUY THIS IF YOU LOOKING FOR A SMART TV.
The apps don't work, the remote does not have full functionality.
Comes with apps like Netflix already loaded however it doesn't work properly.
Have spoken to various technicians who all agree this is NOT a smart tv.
Nu World the supplier dont respond to phone calls and emails regarding the problem.
The sound quality is also terrible, sounds like you watching on a laptop

As a smart TV the JVC is at the bottom of the rage of Smart TVâ€™s. These are my reasons for the bad review:
-The operating system is extremely slow to respond
-The remote is difficult to operate, but this can be overcome when using the cell phone app which syncs your smart phone with the TV
-Not all streaming apps work on the JVC Smart TV â€“ Netflieks works, but because of the slow storage while streaming you may experience some stuttering. The Showmax app works until you need to stream a full movie or series then it just does not want to load and play at all.
-I would recommend installing and using a LAN cable from the start, the WiFi drops connection, even with full WiFi reception.
-The standard browsing app on the JVC is terrible. I would recommend removing the app and installing Chrome.
I guess you get what you pay for, rather go for Samsung.

This TV was bought for the bedroom to watch stuff at night, but the dimming feature which is essential at night, does not work when watching movies off a harddrive or streaming. It only works if you are watching the tuner. No one watches SABC anymore so that's useless.
It also has software that cannot be upgraded so the apps don't work very well.
Not bad for the price, but rather buy something else if you have a little extra money.

The spec says: "Dled Full Hd"
It is not. The panel (screen) is 720p (HD ready). If you push a 1080p signal through the input it will downscale it to 720p and it looks horrible. In short, false advertising.

Clear picture 8/10. Easy to use smart TV with lots of functionality (includes a browser). Only negative is the sound quality, very poor 4/10...can be overcome by using a home theatre system.

Android for a smart TV would not be my option but this TV has an excellent picture. It's not Full HD but you don't really need Full HD on a 32" TV. As some people have stated, the sound is a bit tinny but it handles Netflix pretty well through wifi. Good buy on a daily deal

Very nice TV. Sleek design. I also like the Smart TV capabilities. However, it is not a Full HD TV as advertised. It does not have a native 1080p resolution. I accepts a 1080p signal, but has a 720p display :(

This TV appears to not actually be a Full HD TV. There is an article on mybroadband.co.za that shows that this and other models that are advertised as Full HD are really not Full HD. Not sure why Takealot is selling this as a Full HD TV after these findings...
