I bought this to see whether it will help with carpal syndrome, works well and accompanying software is easy and you can configure each button to suit your needs. Now only time will tell whether I can get use to a trackball and whether it works for the aches and pains :-)

More like a Mega Mouse the trackball does take awhile to get used to however once familiar with it just feels more intuitive than a normal mouse. Looks plasticky but the trackball is supersmooth and of good quality. The scroll wheel is fine as are the four buttons. The wristpad is okay but would have preferred one that detaches easily - it is fine to use without the wristpad. Couldn't load the Mac Trackball Works software however the 4 buttons function great as they are. The Windows version of Trackball works was fine. Highly recommended!

The trackball is nice and smooth with low friction. The pointer is accurate and button clicks are not bad (even though they are a bit loud) and provide nice tactile feedback. Based on the ball and buttons alone it would deserve a much better rating, but this is where they fall off the wagon.
The palm rest provided with the unit is necessary to comfortably use the trackball (for me at least but probably not for everyone) but is nothing worth bragging about. It is obviously an afterthought and not even a well executed one.
The scroll ring feels like it is mounted on high quality sand paper. It takes effort to move, the friction is not consistent and spinning it emits a noise that makes it sound like the trackball is being towed behind a car on a concrete highway at low speed (since you cannot spin it faster than that on it's sand paper base).
For a third of the price I would not have been that disappointed but at this price point I expect so much more. If this is one of Kensington's top end trackballs I would stay far away from all of them. Ok, maybe the SlimBlade because it does not have a scroll ring but rather scrolls by spinning the ball around it's axis.

Awesome Trackball for all of you Trackball fans. Good build, very comfortable to use with the included wrist support pad. The scroll wheel is a bit rough and stiff, but I've read in reviews that once broken in it becomes as smooth as a fresh jar of Skippy ;) I love this product and recommend it to all.
