If we say dispatched between X and Y days then it takes X to Y days to receive from a supplier and it will then be with you within the time frame of the shipping plan you selected.
If we say Pre-order it means that your item will be dispatched to you on the day it's released and arrive with the time span of the shipping plan you chose.

I upgraded my notebook HDD to an SSD and then used this item to add my original HDD back to my notebook in place of the DVD drive. It fitted into my Acer notebook perfectly. I removed the DVD drive bezel and it fitted onto this unit withno modification needed.

This unit works great. IF YOU GET HIGH CPU USAGE AFTER INSTALL, it is because there is a very tiny switch you need to flick on the device to prevent Windows from thinking the optical drive bay is open. It is on the side of the device, in a little hole. I used a small flat screwdriver to flick the switch.
This is only in Windows 8/10 and was only introduced in laptops after around 2011 it seems. Sorry for the all caps, I wanted to catch your attention because I was surprised and actually spent some time before I figured this out. Read below link for more info.

Getting it to work is hard but when it finally works it does its job great.
If your laptop at first doesn't recognize the HDD in the bracket dont stress follow these steps.
AT YOUR OWN RISK
This is totally at your own risk and is specifically useful if you switched to SSD and the drive going into the caddy was your old "C:// DRIVE".
Reboot laptop and go into Bios. Confirm that the HDD is showing on there ( even if windows didnt see it, it should show on the Bios)
- If the HDD in the bracket has info on you want to keep backup everything first before continuing.
- Go into windows and press (WINDOWS BUTTON + R) and type Diskpart.exe.
- This will open a Command prompt window for Disk Part
- type in ( LIST DISK ) and identify the disk (be carefull tripple check that the disk is the right one they are usually labeled DISK 0, Disk 1, etc.
- *** Confirm stuff on disk is backed up and confirm that the RIGHT DISK IS CHOSEN
- in DiskPart type the following "select disk #" # being the disk you chose and press enter
- then type "clean" press enter
- then type "create partition primary" press enter
- then type "activate" press enter
- then type "format fs-ntfs quick" and press enter
- then type "assign letter=#" with # being the Drive letter you choose and press enter
And now restart your computer. Drive will now be in your windows view able and use full enjoy.

The bay works well and has a good build quality.
My only complaint would be that the screws to fasten the drive in place are very small and I struggled to find a screwdriver that would fit. Including a small disposable one would be great.

Wow. This is the second product I have purchased from Orico and I am very impressed with there quality. The caddy's physical engineering is of high quality and precision including the screws. Works like a charm! Recommended to my friends. I added an old 120GB laptop HDD. If at first your laptop does not pick it up (like mine did), make sure you completely wipe the HDD that you want to add and that the partition table is correct for your OS.

Works great now BUT: I had to do a modification for it to work in my HP ProBook.
Laptop would not shut down with the extra drive installed.

Does exactly what it says :) Also comes in with little built in screw driver. Doesn't have a DVD-Rom drive cover/front, but that's perfectly fine because you can use your existing one from your optical drive.

For other buyers, take note that older laptops require a 12.8mm cradle, which is hard to find, the 9mm won't go in as is (it is at a slight angle due to thickness variations so the connectors don't line up), I simply cut off the side 'wing', remounted the securing tab, installed a spacer and it went in nicely. I works perfectly! Having my old 1TB drive in my laptop far out weighs the bit of effort of doing this mod. If you have a newer laptop with 9mm slot it will slip straight in with no effort.
