- Ryobi - Shredder Mulching With Bin - 2400W

@ Christine, this 2100w Mulcher should be more powerful than the more expensive 1500 w 2HP one ! I got the 1500 w model from Mica about 6 or 7 years ago. It is not perfect, but works well when you let the machine kind of suck the twigs in, don't force them in too much.

I made a mistake to order this model;it is too small for the purpose I want; engine cuts out every few minutes; seems it can only handle small twigs; not heavy leaves& branches. I should have gone for the bigger, albeit more expensive, Ryobi Shredder Mulcher- 2Hp -3 cycle.

Shreds fine enough, but clogs up easily.

Very happy with this product. Easy to assemble and move around. Works equally well with wet and dry branches and process them quickly. Be sure to wear ear, eye and hand protection.

Best Ryobi product I bought

Machine is nicely made but feed capacity and system is pathetic. The chute system is narrow, you can feed only a small handful of leaves at a time and you need the supplied paddle to push it into place. A good section of what you try to feed falls onto the ground creating more unnecessary labour for later. Having a 2400 watt motor going all the time will impact negatively on your electricity bill.
This machine is a huge disappointment and I would recommend anyone looking for a garden shredder to do proper research looking at feed capacity in particular. I will look at possibility of exchanging it.
