LOVE these - sound is excellent and super comfortable. Pros - light, no leather or fake leather pads, 40mm driver, 2m cord, 3.5mm plug and larger adapter included, gold plated, fits nicely around my ears (bigger ears my cause slight discomfort as the cup shape is round), breathable (open back, so you don't sit there and sweat after 30 minutes). Cons - the cord sometimes can get in the way, it is made from a lot of plastic.

Those headphones need to break-in after a few hours of playing. Since those are studio reference the sound is flat and treble is very high. You need to use EQ to enjoy them fully. Each sound can be clearly heard

Sharper more accurate highs I have never heard before these. Bass was good with some boost and overall clarity was exceptional. I am considering buy another set for the office.

Very good headphones for the price although a bit heavy on the treble. Only complaint I have would be the fit; the ear pads are a bit too thin so I would suggest investing in a nice pair of velour AKG K240 ear pads for a more comfortable fit.

Truly amazing for the price. Using it for gaming, and then bought another two pairs fro my wife and for work. Sounds better than any gaming headset I have ever used. I used to buy R2k+ gaming headsets, until I realised they just put pathetic speakers on them, add a mic, add some lights and great marketing. Just get a desktop mic for you, and you're all set. Uisng the Samson Meteor as my mic.

Amazing headphones for the price! Easily sound better than a R1500 pair of sennheiser headphones. They are open ear which may not suit everyone, but are great if you need to hear yourself talking while they are on. Not the most comfortable pair of headphones but you forget they are on after a while, if you have larger ears they may not sit so nicely.

These are probably the most comfortable set i have bought for the price range they are amazing in clarity and bass.Do yourself a favour and get a pair

Great value for money.

From a music production point of view - specifically mastering and mixing - this is good value for money when you're on a tight budget! The headphones are quite flat in terms of EQ and the bass is not as in-your-face as some cheaper 'dj headphones' tend to have. Just remember that they are open back so your recordings with mics specifically will be quite muddy if you use this to track.

Fantastic fit and sound quality

Loving these earphones so far. Sounds great to me. At this price they FAR outshine the competition.
A couple small niggles: I found the clamping force to be very high, the cans were quite tight at first. I leave them stretched open over night and they seem to be more comfortable now. The bass is not mind blowing, but once again, at this price I'm not too bothered by it.
Overall a very good product at an EXTREMELY decent price

The best set of headphones that I have ever owned under R1000. The sound on these is for music sometimes better than a far more expensive Sennheiser.
Pros: Amazing sound for the price. Actually beyond amazing for the price.
Sound quality of a Sennheiser in the R1000-1800 bracket.
Looks of an AKG.
Also somewhat reminded me of the Steel Series Siberia v2.
Fairly comfortable especially for people with big heads and big ears. This thing could fit over a Motorcycle helmet if needed(although I don't know why you would do that :P).
Eventually you don't notice them after about 10 to 30 minutes.
Continuous use for extended hours(5-8 hours) in my opinion is excellent thanks to the open nature of the cans allowing some cooling although you will never notice it.
After a few years of owning these the headband starts to develop cracks and so do the metal bars. However in retrospect the amount of abuse these have endured has far exceeded most of my other headphones.
I have had mine for going on 4 years now.
yes there are other better headphones on the market. However you are going to pay a helluva lot more for some minor improvements. Which only Audiophiles might notice.

These are the best pair of headphones I have ever owned. Paired with a good music amp like the Asus Xonar U3 and it delivers superb sound for the price point.

Comfortable and great sound rendition for money - very good value
Jared, South Africa. 2 November 2016
Bought these today and I must say, best damn headphones I've heard. They easily compete with more expensive headphones and often beat them out. I'm a huge Samson fan thanks to these headphones. Got mine for gaming and editing and they are perfect and amazingly comfortable. I was a bit skeptical about the self adjusting headband but I couldn't have been more wrong, it's thee most ergonomically designed headphones I've ever tried. Thinking of buying a second pair. If you want to try them out for gaming, I recommend getting the Samson Meteor mic, another great product at a low price.

Good for studio session...using them when recording
Shaun, South Africa. 27 January 2017
I bought these for recording at home and they're great! Crystal clear sound -- you can hear entire bass, mids and treble ranged evenly. The only thing is they do 'bleed' a little more than I expected, meaning that if a person is standing close to you while you have them on they can hear what you're listening to. It's not a biggie, but keep in mind if you're using these to record vocals you'll want to turn the volume low while listening to click or backing tracks to record over, otherwise the vocal mic may pick up the bleed.
