- Steelseries Gaming Headset - Siberia 650 - Black
Edwin, South Africa. 21 June 2017
To the point - This headset is not worth how much it costs. Here's a checklist of issues:
Default cable is too short, with the extension making it somewhat too long.
The cable of USB sound card is ridiculously too short, and I cannot see how the joints will last very long.
The automatically adjustable headband does have a maximum allowance, which is my case is at it's maximum. (This isn't necessarily an issue, but it is worth noting that people with "larger" heads may find this to sit awkwardly.)
The maximum volume of the headset is seriously too low. Even friends who can't handle volumes that I consider low, agree that the maximum provided volume level is simply TOO low. (This after confirming that all system sound settings are set to their respective maximums.)
Music playback is not very good.
Game audio is good, but somewhat over emphasizes bass, even after playing with EQ settings. It also seems that all sounds that happen in very close proximity to the player is similarly over emphasized, with directional awareness being almost overwhelmed or annoyingly influenced by something like player footsteps, for example.
Steelseries software is rather pathetic, and has some troubling issues.
Which, to me, renders this headset currently unusable.
Do not buy this item unless the software issue is fixed, or it's at least half of it's current price.
