For this price... there is nothing to think about. Other than the 1996 original, I have not really played the dozen or so Tomb Raider games in between as I am no good with these platformer type games (gravity always win). This new Tomb Raider focuses more on story and action/survival... and does a very good job of it too.
Even though I still plunged to my untimely death a few times, there is less jumping and climbing than previous titles. So it isn't really "classic Tomb Raider", awesome game though if you are not to concerned with that.

Brilliant game! Absolutely a must-have this year! Finished in two days - then played it again!
I was skeptical at first - being a lover of previous Tomb Raider games, from the trailers I thought this was going to be a bloody gory mess for the not-so-faint of heart. It is, in fact brilliant with plenty of running, jumping, adventuring and stealthy kills that it actually reminds me of a combination of Elder Scrolls, Fable, Metal Gear and Assassin's Creed.
Only thing that got me in the beginning is installation - as a PC version it annoyingly has to install Steam first so you HAVE to have an internet connection. Then strangely enough it started downloading the 10GB game from Online. I thought this can't be right, so I googled a solution and there's a way around it - the game installation files are on the CD! Once installed, there was about a 2GB game update which you may need to prepare for... But best to play the game with all the bugs ironed out!
All-in-all totally outstanding game and the PC version is a very fair price!
My only struggle now - to find a way to install game mods for Lara's hair and clothes...

I loved this game.
Graphics are awesome, besides the mediocre water.
Her hair physics is brilliant and really makes the game a lot nicer (strange for just hair). You do need a good machine to get use of the TressFX.
Story is not super original, it has a very similar setting and beginning to Far Cry 3. But I found how it progressed and the way you got to play it quite refreshing.
Loved how the animations were very cinematic and the cut-scenes were awesome. The puzzles were fun, and it still kept to the old school tomb raider with lots of jumping and climbing, but with a lot more falling. And finally a Tomb Raider with a good camera; it is precise and you miss nothing.
I found her rapid change quite different. Many people do say she developed a bit too quickly, but I took it as she was kind of crying for herself as that is what she expected of herself (not for the animal or person). For instance when she kills that first guy and feels sorry; I don't think she truly was, but just expected herself to feel that way. That makes more sense when she actually starts finding killing easy. Almost a kind of sociopathic tendency.
I also liked the fact that in the origin story, she does not learn everything from scratch. You find out that she has been trained to use a bow and climb etc. I hate stories where the protagonist starts off knowing nothing and becomes a hardened gun slinging hero a couple scenes later. She also is not as skinny as usual; she has some meat on her arms, which makes her power a bit more believable, especially in her desperation.
The desperation and sadness - specifically from the beginning - was very refreshing and really made you feel for Lara. Games these days are becoming great at getting gamers attached to the characters they play.
Only negatives so far was the water was a bit meh, story short - I finished it in 12 hours - and not super original (still very fun and engaging though).
All-in-all, this game is amazing and a must buy.

What a game and for less than R100 it is money well spend. It use the Steam platform which I like because it just works. Be ready for a 2GB update once installed but this is nothing unexpected. You don't buy complete games anymore anyway ^_^

It has been sometime since I played any of the Tomb Raider games as I play Assassins Creeds mostly. This is a well enjoyed game; great storyline, graphics, gameplay and lengthy too.

Tomb Raider has a great story, interesting characters and a very green Lara Croft. Watch as Lara fast becomes the kick ♥♥♥ heroine we know and love. Many times you will cringe as she faces countless trials, beatings, near death experiences and so much more the brutal island she finds herself on has to offer. Watch as her character develops throughout the game, a cut on the arm is a cut on the arm and will stay that way. Dirty, bloody and fighting for survival.
The controls are simple but diverse allowing you to navigate around most of your surroundings; however, you do feel at times very limited in where you can climb. With other games out there allowing you to grab onto almost anything, you feel very constricted. Some of this is understandable and necessary to implement puzzles, but I'm talking about things like the side of steps, or being just under a ledge, I now have to run all the way around when a simple jump could have gotten me there. Other than that this game is a must. Having just finished I intend going back and finishing the side quests and possibly a second run.

It took what felt like forever to download this game (+-12 hours) so not a case of have DVD, install and play. It's download steam from DVD, then update, then download game.. I've just started playing and it's much more realistic and very entertaining.

Took some time to learn exactly what steam was about since the game requires a Steam account.
However, the game is visually beautiful, although, as someone who has been playing Tomb Raider since the first one, I found the level violence and gore to match perfectly with the setting of the game.
The story is also captivating.

Classic game. Good origin story with great graphics and gameplay, while maintaining that nostalgic Tomb Raider feel. Definitely a must buy.
